Currently, specific health examinations are conducted for people in their 40s to 70s to prevent lifestyle-related diseases. The purpose of the Specific Health Examination is to learn about one's health status and to encourage health behavior. However, approximately 78% of those who are diagnosed as having abnormal health status and are eligible for specific health guidance do not receive such guidance. One of the reasons for the low take-up rate of the specified health guidance is that it is necessary to directly contact a physician or public health nurse when asking questions or discussing health behaviors, including specified health guidance, and this is an obstacle for those who receive the guidance who cannot make up their minds to accept a diagnosis of lifestyle-related diseases. In addition, as a result of an interview survey conducted by the authors, we heard many requests for correct knowledge and guidance on lifestyle-related diseases from the subjects of the specific health guidance. Therefore, in order to make inquiries easily and speedily, this study proposes the introduction of a chatbot in the field of health guidance to promote health actions. We focus on the prevention of severe diabetes among lifestyle-related diseases, and furthermore, we consider what kind of health guidance method should be used to attract people by giving a character to the chatbot.
