Facial expressions and heart rate variability (HRV) have been attracting attention as clues to investigate our internal states. This study aims to measure emotional changes in our daily lives in a multimodal manner by analyzing changes in facial expressions and HRV and has developed a method to capture ambiguous changes in facial expressions so far. In this paper, we specifically focus on users who are playing a competitive game that elicits various emotions such as anticipation, excitement, and tension, and report the relationship between the transitions of the degree of smiling and HRV.
