Living things, including humans, exchange information with the environment through physical bodies.
What kind of correspondence exists between the physical body boundary and the informational boundary of such a system?
Human newborns and infants are thought to adjust the discrepancy between physical and informational boundaries through the learning sensorimotor loops.
In contrast, a person temporarily expands the informational boundary to the stick and can operate its tip as if it were their body.
In this study, we examined how physical and informational boundaries can be generated by numerical simulations of primitive cells using a multi-particle system based on autopoiesis.
As a result, we found that the physical and informational boundaries of primitive cells are different from each other and that the size of the gaps varies depending on the internal parameters of each particle and the strength of the interaction.
