In the development and social implementation of dialogue services utilizing generative AI, it is essential to provide appropriate customization and user experience (UX) design tailored to the needs of the setting and the users. Rather than focusing on superficial demands, we must address fundamental issues by (1) configuring and tuning LLMs to align with users’ text communication levels and characteristics, and (2) offering an integrated UX that goes beyond text-based interaction and incorporates visuals, audio, and more. This study presents a generative AI–driven dialogue application designed to create new communication opportunities for students in school settings, rather than merely replacing existing communication with family, friends, or teachers. To foster rich dialogue, we applied a cultural anthropological perspective emphasizing the semantic nuances of natural language over programming-centric logic, generating eight personas suited for student interaction. We then combined game development know-how with generative AI to design characters, produce animations, and build the app’s user interface.
