[2Win5-76] A Pattern Timetable Creation Algorithm for Single-Track Railway Sections Incorporating Headways

Railway timetables are difficult to generate automatically because, compared to other transportation planning in railways, they have a high degree of freedom and their evaluation criteria is unclear and difficult to assess. In this study, we focus on pattern timetables for single-track sections—which are subject to stricter constraints and have less flexibility—and propose an algorithm for their automatic generation that also considers constraints known as headways. This method can also be extended to sections that are not single-track and to timetables that are not pattern-based.
