Data science skills and knowledge are essential to realize Gendered Innovation. Ochanomizu University has provided a unique data science curriculum for all undergraduate students that employs literary works as teaching materials in regular classes since 2019. Here we presented a new teaching material to analyze gender differences in the authors’ writing style using text from modern Japanese novels from Meiji to Shōwa period and held a data science seminar using the presented teaching material. The teaching material is an extension of the content of the regular classes. It incorporates the idea of Gendered Innovation which is a way of analyzing data based on gender differences. This paper explains the teaching material in detail and introduces participants’ activities in the seminar.
