[13a-2B-7] Characteristics of Optical Biosensor Based on Silicon Microring Resonator-Loaded Mach-Zehnder Interferometer

We propose and fabricate an optical biosensor based on a silicon microring resonator-loaded Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MRR-MZI), and measure its sensing characteristics using avidin solutions. The results show that the MRR-MZI has a high sensitivity for avidin, and has a potential for measuring concentrations of as low as 20 pM.
