Quantum Hall Effect (QHE), which shows quantized Hall resistance and zero longitudinal resistance, is usually observed in a very clean 2D electron gas system at very low temperature and high magnetic field. QHE without external magnetic field is QAHE (A stands for Anomalous), which is predicted to occur even at higher temperature in a heterojunction sample of a topological insulator (TI) and a ferromagnetic insulator (FI). In this study, for the realization of the QAHE using a typical topological insulator Bi2Te3, we explored for the ideal FI substrate.
