[13a-2S-6] On-Si membrane distributed-reflector laser integrated with SiO_x-based spot-size converter

For low-cost fiber assembly and integration with Si-photonics devices of an on-Si membrane DR laser, we integrated the SiOx-based spot-size converter (SSC) with the laser. Thanks to butt-coupling of a high-NA-fiber, we improved the fiber-coupling loss 6dB from that with previously reported lensed-fiber coupling, and successfully integrated the SiOx-SSC with the laser.
