[13p-1G-5] Surface chemical approach to improving the air-stability of n-type carbon nanotubes
Keywords:thermoelectric materials,energy harvesting,thermal stability
Single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) have been considered as a promising candidate for future flexible thermoelectric power supply. The improvement of the thermoelectric properties of SWNTs and control of their majority carriers have recently been achieved. SWNTs usually exhibit p-type characteristic in air, and an improvement in the air-stability of n-type SWNTs is under investigation. We have demonstrated that phosphine derivatives can convert p-type SWNTs to their air-stable n-type forms. In this talk, I will show our recent results including the development of thermally-durable n-type SWNTs.
