[13p-2D-2] Development of an external cavity diode laser frequency-locked over a long term

We made a mechanically robust exernal cavity diode laser with no use of position adjusters such as precision screws and piezo actuators toward permanent frequency stabilization. The drift of the laser frequency followed variation in the atmosphere pressure under free-running operation. This indicates that frequency drift is predictable because variation in the refractive index of air caused by a change in atmosphere pressure was much more dominant for the frequency drift than mechanical instability of the cavity.
