[13p-2D-6] Stabilization of an Optically Pumped Far Infrared laser by Using an Optical Isolator

We have developed simultaneously oscillated 48- and 57-μm CH3OD lasers pumped by a 9R(8) CO2 laser for interferometer and polarimeter of fusion plasma diagnostics. It is important to reduce a back reflection of the pump CO2 laser from a far-infrared (FIR) laser cavity in order to realize the stable laser oscillations. Therefore, the two-color FIR lasers have been stabilized by an optical isolator using a quarter wave plate and an absorbing thin-film reflectors mirror.
