Residual ratio and surface change of biodegradable microcapsules were investigated after femtosecond laser irradiation for laser triggered drug release. Poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) microcapsules fabricated with a coaxial dual-nozzle were irradiated by 800 nm femtosecond laser pulses. Decrease in the number of microcapsules and the change in the surface morphology were observed, indicated the change in biodegradability of the microcapsules.
