We recently developed “Visible-light Photoemission Spectroscopy (VPS)”, which is the method to directly measure conduction electrons in conduction band. In general, conduction electrons cannot escape into a vacuum because the energy levels of conduction electrons are lower than the vacuum level. In VPS, on the other hand, adopting an NEA surface enables to extract conduction electrons into a vacuum. By analyzing the electrons, we can reveal behaviors of conduction electrons in conduction band. In this presentation, we will talk about the detail of the VPS method and obtained results, as an example of an InGaAs/GaAsP superlattice specimen.
