[13p-4F-2] The Chemistry of Organosilicon Clusters as Models of Silicon Semiconductors
Keywords:organosilicon cluster,silicon
Organosilicon clusters can be regarded as intermediates between normal organosilicon compounds and silicon semiconductors. Normal organosilicon compounds contain one or several silicon atoms, while silicon semiconductors consist of a large number of silicon atoms. They belong to completely different classes of substances. What kinds of compounds are organosilicon clusters? Although their structures and properties are interesting, their studies have not been carried out because of synthetic difficulty. In this lecture, we explain recent development of the chemistry of organosilicon clusters.
