▲ [13p-PB7-8] Plasma-on-Chip for Treatment of Individual Cells Cultured in Medium
Keywords:plasma medicine,atmospheric pressure plasma,MEMS
The plasma medicine is one of the promising applications of using low-temperature plasmas at atmospheric. This application uses interaction between plasma and cells. To analyze the plasma medicine in the levels of individual cell, we have fabricated a MEMS device named “plasma-on-chip”. The plasma-on-chip consists of microwells and a microplasma source. Each microwell has a through-hole at the bottom. When media including cells are poured into the microwells, the surface tension holds the medium without leakage. On the back of microwells, microplasma source is located. Reactive species from the plasma go through the through-hole, gas-liquid interface, and reach the cells cultured in medium. We present the improvement of the plasma-on-chip device and its applications to biological samples.
