In recent years, flexible devices have been focused. On the other hand, deformation behavior of soft material remains unexplored. Recently, we have developed a surface-labeled grating method that enables quantitative and microscopic deformation analysis of film surfaces. In this study, silicone elastomer films with various hardnesses labeled with a grating in the surface were fabricated, and deformation behavior of the film surface in the bending was evaluated. The effect of hardness on surface strain was investigated.
