▲ [14a-1A-2] Molecular Assembling and Magnetic Manifestations in 2D Systems and Related Edifices. Structure-property Relationships in Case Studies.
キーワード:magnetic properties,molecular structure,nanoscale systems
Starting from the premise that systems tending to self-organize in 2D pattern are best suited to grow thin films, provide that a topological match with the host material is fulfilled, we apply principles of the supramolecular chemistry to approach, as case studies, the magnetic behavior of several prototypical systems, investigating the structure property relationships along the possible lines of the hierarchy of 0D (molecular), 1D, 2D up to 3D (bulk) levels of aggregations.Taking single magnet molecules, starting with the molecular prerequisites of this sort of property, one investigates by models and arguments of chemical intuitions what happens with these molecules when are deposited on various surfaces, as function of the charge transfer propensities of the host and guest partners.Revisiting previous data,1-4 we discuss the effects related between molecular and extended levels, when grow 1D and 2D nanoscale magnets out of molecular edifices. Coordination systems with radical or redox-active ligands are envisaged, speculating the application extensions to spintronics or spin valve devices. Aside the hybrid organic-inorganic materials, we advance several considerations on graphenes with spin determined by topological factors.
Our perspective is about fruitfulness of putting on equal footing the academic insight with application prospection, as well as the chemistry and physics of the considered samples of study.
