[14a-2S-4] Fabrication of a terahertz magnetic mirror based on dielectric spheres

The reflection of electromagnetic wave from a conventional metal mirror is accompanied by a phase reversal of the reflected electric field. On the other hands, "a magnetic mirror" which reflects incident waves by maintaining the phase of the electric field while reversing the phase of its magnetic field can be fabricated by using metamaterial technology. In this work, we fabricated meta-surfaces by using dielectric spheres which have large permittivity and were low-loss material. We measured reflectance and phase shift directly, and analyzed characteristic of the magnetic mirror.
