In this contribution, flexible gold nanocone array films with noble antireflective properties and tunable hydrophobicity is presented. The nanocone array structures are fabricated by a simple, inexpensive and scalable method based on colloidal lithography and oxygen plasma etching process. Geometry of nanocone arrays is successfully controlled by the bead diameter and etching time. The resultant gold nanocone arrays exhibit unique matte-black color instead of shiny gold. The detailed optical properties and tunable hydrophobicity will be discussed in the presentation.
