[14p-1D-4] Novel THz techniques utilizing nonlinear optical effects

Since 1992, we have been studying widely tunable THz-wave sources using LiNbO₃ crystals. In 2001, we created an injection-seeded THz parametric generator (is-TPG) with a few W output. Recently, the peak output power of is-TPG approached 100 kW by introducing a microchip YAG pump laser with shorter pulse width. Also, we have realized ten orders of dynamic range using an injection seeded THz parametric detector.
