In this paper, fiber-optic low magnetic field sensor based on double cantilever fiber beam deflection transmission configuration using cobalt-doped nickel-ferrite nanoparticles coated optical fiber is proposed. Magnetic field in the vicinity is measured in terms of fiber-to-fiber transmitted power variation. The sensor configuration is capable of measuring magnetic field as low as 5.0mT.Response of this double cantilever technique is also compared with the results obtained from single cantilever technique to demonstrate the efficacy of the double cantilever system. A theoretical model is also formulated to demonstrate the effect of increasing number of cantilevers in the set up for sensing very low order field.
