▼ [14p-2J-16] Suppression of spin pumping efficiency at low temperature in Pt/YIG thin films
Keywords:spin pumping
Yttrium Iron Garnet (YIG) is an important material in spintronics because of its high efficiency for spin pumping and its insulating properties which are ideally suited to identify the origin of spin pumping induced electromotive forces (EMFs) in nonmagnetic metals deposited on the YIG film. For understanding the physics of spin pumping in more detail with the help of YIG, the temperature dependence of the spin pumping efficiency has been investigated. In this presentation, I show the characteristics of the FMR parameters and the associated EMF in Pt as a function temperature. We observed a strong decrease in the EMF at temperatures below T=100K and associated it to the temperature dependence of the FMR which showed excessive line broadening in this temperature range. Below T=80K the effect became unobservable. Our results show that the EMF amplitude is proportional to the FMR linewidth which varies with fast relaxation processes.
