Halide single crystals show relatively high light yield and energy resolution because of the small band-gap. CeBr3 crystal has fast decay time of (~19 ns) in addition to the high light yield (~60,000 ph/MeV) and the CeBr3 crystal is expected to be applied in radiation detectors with high timing resolution. In this research, we focus substituting effects of Lu to the CeBr3 crystal in order to increase its density and effective atomic number. Lu substituted CeBr3 crystals were grown by micro-pulling down method. The light yields of Lu5% and 10% substituted CeBr3 were smaller than CeBr3 crystal.
