Many researches have been focused on high performance carbon materials for the application of next-generation battery from decades. Recently, an innovative technology, named solution plasma (SP), has been drawing attentions for carbon material synthesis. The most attraction aspect of SP is that through this technology, the physical and chemical properties of synthesized carbon can be sassily turned by varying the organic solvent. However, the conductivity of the SP synthesized carbon requires further improvement to be applied as electrode material.
In this study, molecules having π orbitals like naphthalene or anthracene were introduced into benzene solvent in order to improving the conductivity of the synthesized carbon. From the result of resistance measurement, the resistance value of naphthalene (26.4 Ωcm) and anthracene (16.6 Ωcm) introduced carbons has been improved about 4 and 6 times better than obtained carbon from pure benzene (104 Ωcm), respectively. The effect of solutes on the crystallinity and conductivity of the synthesized carbon were discussed in details.
