Today, almost all infrastructures are controlled by digital information. And most digital data is stored in hard disks settled at data centers. At present, increasing huge energy consumed by hard disks becomes a serious object of social concern. One possible solution to avoid from this crisis is to replace hard disks by semiconductor non-volatile memories such as ferroelectric memories that are much more energy efficient compared by hard disks. In this talk, recent research activities of semiconductor non-volatile memories will be presented.
