[14p-PB5-14] Simultaneous measurement of conductance and thermopower of Au-PCBM junction

The thermoelectric energy conversion using low dimensional materials is of growing interest due to their characteristic electronic structure promising for high thermopower. Molecular junctions, which consist of only single molecule between two metal electrodes, are considered as a new candidate for the low dimensional thermoelectric material. We conducted the simultaneous measurements of the electrical conductance and the thermoelectric voltage of Au[6,6]-Phenyl C61 butyric acid methyl ester(PCBM) molecular junctions using microheater-embedded mechanically controllable break junctions (MCBJ) method. The electronic structure of Au-PCBM junction was deduced from measurements and discussed the evolution while breaking and the microscopic origin.
