[15a-1E-3] Diffusion Reflector Using Dielectric Nano-particle/SiO₂ Composit Structure

We have been investigating a dielectric nanoparticles/SiO₂ composite back reflector for crystalline solar cells. The binder SiO₂ is made of Perhydropolysilazane (PHPS). Three different dielectric nanoparticles were tested: TiO₂, BaSO₄ and MgCO₃. The TiO₂ nanoparticle/SiO₂ composite showed highest reflectance in the range of visible and infrared wavelength. The large difference of refractive index between TiO₂ and SiO₂ causes high scattering reflectance property.
