An innovative biosensing technique based on photopolymerization of o-phenylenediamine (oPD) molecules induced by a focused laser beam has been studied. Polyphenylenediamine nanostructures were deposited by focusing a visible laser beam in o-PD solution and characteristic variations of the reflection intensity were observed due to the nanostructure formation. Because peroxidase enzyme reaction enhances this polymerize reaction, this technique is applicable to various biosensors. In this study we fabricated sensor chips immobilized with enzymes and antibodies and a reliable quantification of glucose and biomarker proteins was performed with a small sample volume.
