[15a-2F-4] Simplified configuration of optical correlation-domain reflectometry using plastic fibers

We proposed simplified optical coherent-domain reflectometry (OCDR) using plastic optical fibers (POFs). We used two techniques for simplification of the OCDR. One is using OCDR without the hetero-dyne detection and the other is removing the reference path by using as reference light the Fresnel-reflected light caused at a boundary between a silica single-mode fiber and a POF. The simplified configuration using POF was successfully demonstrated.
