[15p-2B-9] Carbon Nanotubes as a Fluorescent Label for a V-trench Biosensor
Keywords:biosensor,carbon nanotube,surface plasmon resonance
A V-trench biosensor is a highly sensitive fluorescent immunosensor that utilizes electric field enhancement induced by surface plasmon resonance. In this study, we investigated the potential of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) as a fluorescent label for the V-trench biosensor. A V-trench sensor chip designed for (8, 3) CNTs, with an excitation wavelength of 670 nm and an emission wavelength of 950 nm, was fabricated. A (8, 3)-rich CNT dispersion was introduced into fluidic channels of the V-trench sensor chips and their fluorescence was measured using a visible light camera. We successfully detected the fluorescence from the CNTs using our setup. Moreover, assuming that the CNTs were used as the fluorescent label for influenza virus detection, we estimated a detection limit of the V-trench biosensor.
