▲ [15p-2F-3] High Contrast Digital Holographic Microscopy by use of Femtosecond Pulse Light
Keywords:Holography,Diffraction,Interferometry
We achieve practically a bright-field digital holographic microscopy configuration free from spurious noise. The configuration is comprised of an ultrashort pulse laser source and a Mach-Zehnder interferometer in transmission. Performance of the proposed setup is verified by imaging a biological sarcomere sample mounted in between two glass plates to avoid dehydration, and the experimental results show that the contrast of the reconstructed phase-image is improved 2 to 3 times better than a He-Ne laser-based result. The improvement is mainly due to feature of the femtosecond pulse light, which acts as a chopper for coherent noise suppression.
