This report demonstrates a new radiation imaging device based on a glass gas electron multiplier (G-GEM), scintillating gas, and mirror-lens-charged-couple-device (CCD)-camera system. We successfully fabricated and operated a Scintillating G-GEM detector having 100 × 100 mm2 effective area as a novel two-dimensional digital radiation imager. In this study, we investigated the light yield characteristics, energy resolution, and imaging capability using an X-ray tube.
