Plastic scintillator (PS), which is one of a solid scintillator, is available to use measurement of low-energy beta emitters with a conventional liquid scintillation counter. Counting efficiency of PS is as good as that of liquid scintillator, and there is little organic waste fluid generation after measurement. Different types of PS are used for stable labeled compounds and unstable (vaporize) labeled compounds in the air; however, both of PSs can measure with superior counting efficiency, and they can be used repeatedly.
