[15p-3A-2] Spin-orbit interaction and its applications to devices

〇Junsaku Nitta1 (1.Tohoku Univ.)

Keywords:spin-orbit interaction,spintronics

Spin-orbit interaction plays crucial roles for spin-related new phenomena and functionalities in various materials, such as semiconductors, ferromagnets, metals and topological insulators. For example, spin-orbit interaction is required to make exotic quasi-particles such as Majorana fermion, skyrmion as well as to realize spin Seebeck effect, spin-orbit torque, and magnetization control. I will discuss possibilities for spintronics device applications based on spin-orbit interaction.
