Cavity ring-down spectroscopy is a highly sensitive technique for trace gas analysis. We are developing a system for isotope ratio determination of carbon-14 in medical samples based on absorption in the NIR to MIR wavelength region. The current status of our prototype system for cavity-ringdown spectroscopy as well as an outlook for an improved design will be given.
