[16a-2G-6] Monolithic Fabrication of NiW Absorber/Emitter for Solar Thermophotovoltaic

Integration of absorber and emitter is a critical challenge toward realization of solar thermophotovoltaic (STPV). In this research, a monolithic fabrication method of an absorber/emitter film was proposed and demonstrated. NiW was electroplated on a mold which has staggered arrangement of rectangular pillar. Then, a complementary cavity array is formed on the NiW surface. In this process, emissivity of both surface were tailored by designing pillar size and plating time, thus wavelength selectivity of absorber/emitter surface can be controlled.
