[16a-2V-6] Induction of Plant Defense Gene Expression by Atmospheric Air Plasma in Oryza Sativa

We report induction effect on defense genes of Oryza sativa by atmospheric pressure plasma. A plasma jet using air and water has been developed. Germinated Seeds of Oryza sativa are irradiated by the plasma. They are grown under dark at 28℃ for 2, 5, or 8 days. Total RNA is isolated from plants, and reverse transcribed into cDNA for quantitative RT-PCR amplification detecting Os-PBZ1 and Os-POX. The genes are expressed by the plasma. Further experimentation is undergoing.
