Keywords:Real-time, Thermo-response, PNIPAM ultra thin film

In the present research, some systematic switching have been found on the PNIPAM ultra thin film of around 40 nm thick even if it does not contact liquid water and is just in ambient atmosphere. X-ray reflectivity has been measured during the temperature scan between 15 °C and 61 °C. For the result, X-ray reflectivity shows different change behaviors during heating and cooling even at same temperature. This could correspond to absorbing and releasing water from/to air, which has some similarity to breathing.
