We have developed a new microscopy that allows direct observations of graphene oxide (GO) floating in solution. GO sheets are dispersed in dye solutions and the dispersion near a solid surface is observed. Partial transparency of GO reveals layering and network structures. Various 3D motions are seen clearly. By taking an advantage of the fact that the contrast depends on interactions between GO and dyes, it is possible to gain information about chemical and optical properties of GO.
