[13a-B10-12] Patterning of Agar Surface for Cultivation Control of Bacteria

Cultivation control of bacteria is essential not only to search and utilize new beneficial bacteria but also to suppress harmful bacteria. Surface patterning for cultivation control has been reported in cultivation of animal organs such as cardiac cells, but has never applied to bacteria. Cultivation of bacteria has been controlled by biochemical parameters such as components of cultivation media and temperature. In this work, we report patterning of agar surface to control cultivation of bacteria. Result of preliminary cultivation experiment will be also reported.
