△ [13a-B11-8] High efficiency thermally activated delayed fluorescent emitters containing terpyridine and acridine moieties

A series of thermally activated delayed fluorescence emitters named AcR-2TP derivatives containing terpyridine derivatives and acridine moieties were designed and synthesized. The PLQY of AcR-2TP derivative doped DPEPO and CBP films were evaluated to be 50-70%. The TADF character is confirmed by the means of the transient PL decay curve at a high temperature of 300 K. The delayed PL intensities of the three materials increase at 300 K, which indicates the presence of TADF. A green AcR-2TP emitter exhibits almost comparable performances to those in green phosphorescent counterparts realizing an external quantum efficiency of over 23%, a power efficiency of nearly 80 lm W-1 with an exceptionally low efficiency roll-off. This is the first example of highly luminescent terpyridine-based TADF emitters so far.
