In this study, a high-average-power operation of a conductively cooled, Q-switched Tm,Ho:YLF laser with a pulse energy higher than 100 mJ was demonstrated. When the laser rod was cooled to -80 C, a Q-switched pulse energy of 104 mJ was obtained at a pulse repetition frequency of 70 Hz, corresponding to an average power of 7.28 W. At 50 Hz, the maximum pulse energy reached 125 mJ.
