[13a-D62-7] [INVITED] The Magnetic Functionalities of Metastable Oxide Thin Films

Katsuhisa Tanaka1, Koji Fujita1 (1.Kyoto Univ.)

Keywords:magnetic material, oxide, thin film

A metastable phase is often quenched as a thin film form when gas phase reaction is utilized for the preparation of thin film. Sometimes such a metastable phase shows superior functionalities compared to its stable counterpart. In the presentation, the authors show some examples of magnetic functionalities realized in metastable magnetic oxide thin films including ferrimagnetism of metastable zinc ferrite thin films and ferromagnetism of divalent europium-bearing amorphous oxide thin films.
