Magnetic molecules have attracted much attention as the candidate materials to realize the molecular spintronics and novel organic magnetic materials. In the device application, contacting molecules to electrode surfaces is requisite. The Kondo effect is one of the widely observed phenomena when contacting magnetic molecules with metal surfaces. In this presentation, I will introduce my recent theoretical studies on the Kondo effect in transition-metal phthalocyanine molecules on metal surfaces.
