In this study, we developed high-efficiency multi-photon emission (MPE) blue phosphorescent OLEDs. In these MPE devices, we used a blue phosphorescent emitter, fac-tris(mesityl-2-phenyl- 1H-imidazole)iridium(III) [fac-Ir(mpim)3] and two types of host materials: TCTA as hole-transport host material and 2,6-bis(3-(carbazol-9-yl)phenyl)pyridine (26DCzPPy) as electron-transport host material. We used a combination of 8-quinolinolato lithium (Liq) / Al / 2,3,6,7,10,11-hexacyano-1,4,5,8,9,12-hexaazatriphenylene (HAT-CN) / 1,1-bis[4-N,N-di(p-tolyl)amino] phenyl]cyclohexane (TAPC) as hole-transport material (HTM) layers for the charge-generation layer unit.
Consequently, this MPE device exhibited excellent high EQE of over 60% and current efficiency of over 180 cd A–1 with low efficiency roll-off for two unit device.
