[13p-B12-18] Applicability of Monte-Carlo Simulation to Equipment Design of Radiation Monitor

Hirotaka Sakai1, Kanako Hattori1, Kei Sugihara1, Norihiro Umemura1 (1.Toshiba Corp.)

Keywords:Mante-Calro Simulation, Radiation Monitor

The applicability of PHITS to the equipment designs of the radioactive noble gas monitor and the monitor for radionuclides in liquid and surface waters was evaluated by comparing the calculated results to the test results obtained by actual calibration loop tests.
It was confirmed that the calculated results were well matched to the test results by using the actual calibration loops, and these simulation calculations are very effective to determine the key parameters for the equipment design, such as thickness of detector window or depth of the sampler.
