Measurement-device-independent (MDI) quantum key distribution (QKD) is being studied in order to be free from side-channel attacks that utilize incompleteness of photon detectors. We previously evaluated the system performance of MDI-QKD protocol based on the differential phase shift (DPS) QKD scheme, assuming that Alice’s and Bob’s signal lights are phase-synchronized. This study evaluates the system performance of phase-asynchronized coherent MDI-DPS-QKD.
