[13p-P5-24] Epitaxial growth of nickel and graphene on mica substrate

Hiroyuki Tanaka1, Masateru Taniguchi1 (1.Osaka Univ.)

Keywords:Graphene, Ni(111), mica

Graphene will be grown on a foil such as copper and nickel. However, the surface structure of the supporting metal for growth will affect the electrical properties of the graphene. The metal species of the supporting substrate often make moiré and wrinkles due to a difference in lattice constant between graphene. There occurs almost no moiré or wrinkles on Ni(111) because of the small lattice mismatch.
Here, we report a successful growth of atomically flat Ni(111) and graphene on a mica substrate.
