Pulsed dry methane reforming in DBD-catalyst hybrid reaction was investigated and optical emission spectroscopy (OES) was carried out. Pulsed CH4 supply enabled transient reaction diagnostics without catalyst deactivation by coking. OES revealed temporal emission from C2 High Pressure Swan System originated from an unique reaction at the plasma-catalyst interface: Carbon diffusion through a catalyst nanoparticle was the rate-determining step of carbon removal.
